What Is Red Eye & Eye Emergencies?
There are certain conditions or symptoms considered as an eye emergency that requires an urgent treatment to prevent irreversible damage to the eye.
Symptoms to look out for are:

Red eye

Painful eye

Discharges from the eye

Unusual light sensitivity

Sudden loss of vision

Sudden reduced vision

Sudden onset of double vision (not happened before)

Style/lump in/close to the eye that's inflamed

Swollen eye

Itchy, irritated eyes

crusty eyelids in the morning, having trouble to open eyes in the morning

Dry eyes

Foreign body went into the eye/trauma to the eye

Flashes/flickers of light, floaters (black spots/specks/insect-like that floats in the vision)

Curtains/shadows that's blocking your vision
Red eye can look scary, and sometimes it can accompany with other symptoms that needs to be cared as soon as possible.
If you are experiencing any of those symptoms, it is recommended for you to have your eyes seen as soon as possible.
What Do We Do?
All of our optometrists are therapeutically qualified which means we are able to prescribe medications to treat for your red eye conditions. In the case of more severe conditions where hospital and/or specialist help are needed, our optometrists will be able to promptly arrange referral for you to see the right person.
